Thassos is the most northern Greek Island of the Aegean Sea. It is situated very close to the mainland near the City of Kavala between the Greek regions of Thrace and Macedonia. The island being so north is very green and has own source of water! Thassos is very famous for its marble quarrys, pine forests and many pristine clean beaches and crystal waters. There are direct flights from most European capitals to this island. The international airport is at town of Chrisoupoli which is 40min ferry trip from the island. This island is a popular family destination with loads of accommodation to rent on its beaches.
